Common Sense Media is dedicated to improving the media and entertainment lives of kids and families. An independent, not-for-profit organization, Common Sense Media works to provide trustworthy information and tools, as well as an independent forum for families to help them make great choices about how kids create and consume content.
Common Sense Medias free online services provide the most comprehensive one-stop resource for kids-and-family media and technology choices. Our continually updated media guide provides detailed reviews, ratings, recommended lists, and viewing tips for more than 10,000 movies, TV shows, music, games, Web sites, and books. Our articles and videos for parents and educators provide advice on media and technology topics like cyberbullying, cellphones and texting, gaming, and more. All of our content is based on criteria developed by some of the nation's leading child development and media experts.
Common Sense Media also reaches more deeply into communities across the United States to provide simple, easy-to-use media education resources designed to raise a new generation of critical thinkers. We offer media and digital literacy workshops and curricula, toolkits, and other resources to partners ranging from early childhood providers to K-12 schools to youth development programs. Our online Parent Media Education Program provides schools with the tools needed to run a media education program for parents and faculty.
Common Sense Media also serves as a respected national policy leader on the key issues that shape the media's impact on the health of America's kids and families. We provide nonpartisan policy leadership on a variety of vital issues. In addition, we sponsor the Common Sense Media Awards, an annual event that features the best in media from a kids-and-family perspective.
